Qualifications

• One year experience in orthopaedics preferred.
• Surgical First Assistant training or ability to obtain within one year from hire.
• NCCPA or NP Board Certification required.
• Current State and DEA Licensure required.
• Must maintain BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Represent Hughston Trauma with professionalism during interactions with patients and staff.
• Assist clinic staff in ambulatory setting including triage and paperwork.
• Perform minor procedures in ambulatory setting (suture/staple removal, debridements, joint aspirations).
• Maintain APP clinic weekly with shared responsibility for selected patients.
• Provide inpatient duties one weekend per month including rounding and consultations.
• Facilitate transition of care from inpatient to outpatient with post-discharge planning.
• Collaborate with trauma surgeons and staff to evaluate and manage patients.
