SAMGI is seeking a full-time APP (PA/NP) for a Level II trauma teaching hospital in Long Beach, CA. The role covers adult and pediatric trauma care with 12-hour day/night shifts, supporting a high-volume ACS team and subspecialty colleagues.

The position offers a salary around $180,000 annually with malpractice tail coverage, 401(k) matching, and credentialing support. Expect an active, multidisciplinary surgical environment on the Southern California coast.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program; PA-C or NP certification.
• NPs must hold RNFA certification.
• Current or eligible California PA or NP license.
• Surgical APP experience preferred—trauma, ACS, general surgery, or critical care.

Schedule

Day shift APPs are assigned to either Trauma or Acute Care Surgery. The night shift APP supports both services. All APPs work directly with and under the supervision of board-certified Trauma surgeons.

What you'll do clinically

• Trauma and ACS inpatient rounds
• ICU and ward/floor patient management
• Adult and pediatric patients
• ER and inpatient consults

Procedures & OR

• Bedside and ICU procedures
• First assist in OR (per privileges)
• Post-op and post-discharge clinic (twice weekly)
• Subspecialty care coordination
• Post-injury and post-op follow-up

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program · PA-C or NP certification
• NPs must hold RNFA certification
• Current or eligible California PA or NP license
• Surgical APP experience preferred — trauma, ACS, general surgery, or critical care
• OR and inpatient experience preferred
• Comfortable in a high-acuity, fast-paced trauma environment
