Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) seeks an Advance Practice Provider to manage trauma and acute care surgery (TACS) patients in collaboration with trauma surgeons, using approved protocols and medical consultation. The APP will guide nursing staff and maintain daily contact with patients and families throughout the trauma continuum.

Candidates should have ER/ICU or critical care experience and hold valid Idaho PA or NP licensure with controlled substance registration (Idaho DEA).

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho.
• Controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
• ACNP-BC or FNP/PA with trauma center experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the attending trauma surgeon(s) for clinical management of TACS patients.
• Provide direction to nursing personnel regarding patient management issues.
• Daily contact with patients, family members, visitors, employees, medical staff, volunteers and students throughout trauma care.
• Support 24/7/365 trauma care operations and participate in on-call panels as needed.
