Job summary

Haven of Tuscola is seeking a Part-Time Transport Driver to safely move residents to appointments, events, and activities with kindness and reliability.

You will maintain clean vehicles, complete maintenance logs, and work closely with staff to ensure on-time, comfortable journeys for residents requiring assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Illinois driver's license with clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year of experience driving a 16-passenger van.
• Dependable, safety-minded and compassionate with residents.
• Excellent communication with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments.
• Provide safe transportation for outings and events.
• Assist residents during outings as needed.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and logs.
• Monitor fuel and fluid levels and report issues promptly.
• Interact professionally and compassionately with residents and families.
• Collaborate with facility staff and other team members.

What You’ll Do

• Safely transport residents to and from scheduled medical appointments
• Provide safe and reliable transportation for special outings and events
• Assist residents during outings as needed
• Ensure residents arrive at their destinations safely and on time
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the vehicle inside and out
• Complete and maintain vehicle maintenance logs
• Monitor fuel and fluid levels
• Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns promptly
• Interact professionally, respectfully, and compassionately with residents and their families
• Work collaboratively with facility staff and other team members

What We’re Looking For

• 21 years of age or older
• Experienced driving a 16-passenger van — minimum 1 year required
• A high school graduate or equivalent
• A holder of a valid Illinois driver's license
• Able to maintain a clean driving record
• Dependable, responsible, and safety-minded
• Friendly, patient, and compassionate
• Comfortable working with seniors and individuals who may require additional assistance
• Able to communicate and work effectively with residents, families, and staff
