Job summary

PeopleReady in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Trash Collector in Asheboro, NC. You will ride on a garbage truck on a designated route, assist the driver with traffic and dumping operations, and perform routine vehicle checks and minor maintenance.

You must be able to work in all weather and lift heavy loads as required. This role offers 1st shift daytime hours with a pay rate of $14.25 per hour and opportunities for flexible, ongoing assignments through the JobStack platform.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledge of work routines and procedures in collecting solid waste materials for disposal, reuse, and recycling.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, and able to carry, reach, bend, push, pull, and climb.
• Flexibility to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route.
• Direct the driver when pulling out into traffic and backing up, and guide incoming vehicles to the dumping area at solid waste disposal facilities.
• Have knowledge of standardized work routines for manual tasks and the operation of collection vehicles in solid waste operations.
• Check the operating and safety conditions of vehicles, perform minor servicing, and report needed repairs or maintenance.
• Assist the driver with various tasks during waste runs and be able to lift 100+ lbs many times throughout the day.
• Be able to work in all weather conditions.

Pay Rate:

What you'll be doing as a Trash Collector:

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route.
