Position Overview

MCLOUD TECHNOLOGY is seeking a highly experienced Transvault Migration Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Technical Lead to lead a large-scale migration of legacy email data from Arctera Enterprise Vault to Microsoft 365.Candidates without substantial hands-on Transvault experience will not be considered.The successful candidate must have deep, hands-on expertise with the Transvault platform and a proven record of successfully delivering complex Enterprise Vault-to-Microsoft 365 migrations.General email-migration experience without substantial Transvault experience will not meet the requirements for this position.The selected professional will lead migration planning, Transvault configuration, environment health assessments, data extraction, Microsoft 365 ingestion, validation, troubleshooting, reporting, and post-migration Enterprise Vault decommissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Transvault technical authority throughout the migration.
• Design, configure, operate, and troubleshoot the Transvault migration platform.
• Lead the end-to-end migration of legacy email data from Arctera Enterprise Vault to Microsoft 365.
• Migrate Enterprise Vault for Exchange user archives and journal archives.
• Conduct source-environment discovery, migration-readiness assessments, and Enterprise Vault health checks.
• Develop the migration architecture, implementation plan, batch strategy, schedules, runbooks, and rollback procedures.
• Configure Transvault migration routes, mappings, filters, processing rules, and target settings.
• Monitor Transvault migration performance, throughput, queues, warnings, and failures.
• Diagnose message-level migration errors and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate migration batches, maintenance windows, and Microsoft 365 ingestion activities.
• Perform non-destructive extraction while maintaining end-user access to archived and live email.
• Minimize disruption to production services and eDiscovery searches.
• Maintain a complete and legally defensible chain of custody from extraction through Microsoft 365 ingestion.
• Provide message-level auditing and detailed error reporting for every migration batch.
• Manage failed or skipped items, remediation procedures, and controlled reprocessing.
• Reconcile source and target data and document migration completeness.
• Track technical risks, dependencies, issues, milestones, and decisions.
• Communicate migration status and technical findings to project managers, stakeholders, and leadership.
• Create technical documentation, knowledge-transfer materials, and final migration reports.
• Plan and support the secure decommissioning of the Enterprise Vault environment following migration acceptance.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced, hands-on expertise with the Transvault migration platform.
• Demonstrated success designing and delivering Enterprise Vault-to-Microsoft 365 migrations using Transvault.
• Ability to independently install, configure, operate, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot Transvault.
• Strong knowledge of Transvault workflows, migration routes, mappings, auditing, reporting, exception handling, and reprocessing.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Arctera or Veritas Enterprise Vault for Exchange.
• Experience migrating both user archives and journal archives.
• Experience delivering large-scale, high-volume enterprise archive migrations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 email, archive, compliance, retention, and eDiscovery capabilities.
• Understanding of Microsoft 365 ingestion methods, service limits, throttling, and migration-performance optimization.
• Experience performing Enterprise Vault discovery, health assessments, and migration-readiness reviews.
• Knowledge of chain-of-custody, data integrity, auditability, reconciliation, and legally defensible migration practices.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve message-level migration failures and produce granular exception reports.
• Experience executing migrations with minimal impact on users, production email services, and eDiscovery operations.
• Strong technical leadership, documentation, stakeholder communication, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as the lead Transvault engineer or architect on complex enterprise migrations.
• Experience supporting government, financial-services, legal, or other highly regulated organizations.
• Experience working with journal archives, compliance records, legal holds, and eDiscovery workflows.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance tools.
• Experience planning and performing Enterprise Vault decommissioning.
• Relevant Transvault, Microsoft 365, Enterprise Vault, or information-governance training and certifications.
• Automation or scripting experience supporting migration validation and reporting.
