Job summary

Hudson Regional Health seeks a dedicated transporter to assist in patient mobility and privacy within a hospital setting. You will move patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, verify patient IDs, and help with timely in-patient transports, ensuring smooth coordination with departments and families.

This role requires a high school diploma, strong safety awareness, and teamwork to support radiology and perioperative services while maintaining patient comfort and privacy throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Ability to transport patients safely and with care.
• Adherence to patient privacy and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient comfort and privacy during transport.
• Transport patients using wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Verify two forms of patient identification before moving.
• Complete in-patient transports promptly and communicate delays.
• Transport items, specimens, and equipment to appropriate departments.
• Assist radiology and perioperative staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Insures the comfort of the patient and maintains patient privacy while transporting
• Insures the comfort of the patient and maintains patient privacy while transporting
• Transports safely using wheelchairs and stretchers
• Checks two forms of patient identification prior to transporting
• Completes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return and communicates delays back to department
• Transports any other required items; documents, equipment, specimens etc. to proper department.
• Stocks linen and fluid in warming cabinets, documents temperature and labels solutions for expiration.
• Assists radiology staff in all areas of perioperative services
• Assists in informing patient family/friends of patient's disposition.
