UPMC is seeking a Part-Time Patient Transporter (20 hours per week) to move patients, equipment, supplies, and medications throughout the hospital. Shift: Noon to Midnight, Every other weekend and holiday.

Responsibilities

Patient Transport

• Safely transport patients and necessary equipment between nursing units, treatment areas, diagnostic departments, and other designated locations.
• Ensure timely and accurate transportation while maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and safety.
• Assist in moving adjunct equipment needed for patient care.

Supply & Medication Delivery

• Deliver supplies, equipment, medications, and other materials to patient care areas and hospital departments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensure proper medication handoff procedures are followed when delivering medications to nursing staff.

Equipment Maintenance

• Inspect, clean, and disinfect transportation equipment according to established department procedures.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient transport environment.

Documentation & Communication

• Accurately document transportation activities using the Transport Tracking System and other department tools.
• Report transportation issues, delays, or unusual situations to department leadership as appropriate.
• Maintain clear communication with nursing staff, clinical teams, and fellow employees to support efficient patient flow.

Customer Service Excellence

• Provide compassionate, courteous service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude in every interaction.
