Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Patient Transporter to move patients, wheelchairs, stretchers, and equipment safely. You will work with nursing staff, monitor patient condition, and ensure proper handling of tubes and IVs.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols and teamwork within the transport team. The position emphasizes using Rover with the EPIC Transport Command Center and maintaining equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in patient transportation; hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• CPR for Healthcare Provider and NCI training required.
• Ability to lift moderate to heavy and manage wheelchair/stretcher transfers.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients with approved devices safely and promptly.
• Observe patient condition and report changes to supervisor/nursing staff.
• Demonstrate proper handling of tubes, IVs, and equipment.
• Use correct transport procedures and body mechanics during transfers.
• Identify equipment in need of repair and follow repair steps.
• Operate Rover device with EPIC Transport Command Center.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
