Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC, is seeking a Transporter (Part Time) to move patients, wheelchairs, stretchers and equipment between nursing units and departments, ensuring safety and efficiency.

You will monitor patients for changes, report to shift supervisor, use proper body mechanics, operate Rover device with EPIC Transport Command Center, and assist with equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year experience in patient transportation services and hospital experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• CPR for Healthcare Provider, NCI training and knowledge of restraints/seclusion safety required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients with appropriate devices safely and in a timely manner.
• Observe patients for changes in condition and report promptly to shift supervisor and nursing staff.
• Demonstrate correct techniques in handling patient tubes, IVs and other equipment.
• Demonstrate proper procedure for transporting patients and use proper body mechanics to discharge/transfer/position patients.
• Identify transportation equipment in need of repair and follow steps to repair for safe use.
