Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking staff to transport patients, specimens, and equipment within its facilities. You will greet patients and visitors, keep hallways tidy, and assist with basic care for non-acute patients while maintaining a safe environment.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and BLS certification; Crisis Prevention Training must be completed within nine months of hire. The role supports hospital operations across Emory/Houston integration and requires 36 hours weekly

Job description

Work Shift: Day - 12 Hour (United States of America)

Schedule: Two 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM shifts and one 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM shift per week.

Perform a variety of activities related to the transportation of patients, specimens, and equipment. Greet and assist patients and visitors at hospital or clinics in areas as assigned and directed. Assists in keeping the hallways/assigned areas neat and orderly by removing medical equipment and unoccupied hospital beds and placing them in their appropriate locations. Assists non-acutely ill patients with basic care and daily hygiene activities as well as with maintaining a safe and clean environment. Dependent on areas assigned, must maintain area based on required standards. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, values, and quality commitment of Emory Healthcare.

Education & Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: None.

Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current Crisis Prevention Training certification is required to be completed within first 9 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment such as vital sign machine, clinical beds, etc. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment.
