Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a Transporter to move patients within the hospital and assist with discharge transports. You will pick up and deliver supplies and equipment across departments, and you’ll clean and sanitize transportation gear.

You may serve as Shift Coordinator in the absence of leadership, perform AIDET, attend department meetings, and cross-train for transfers at all system facilities. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience providing customer service in transportation or dispatching.
• Experience with clerical duties is a plus.
• General computer skills to use health system software.

Responsibilities

• Transfers and transports patients within the hospital and at discharge.
• Picks up and delivers patient supplies and equipment to departments inside the hospital.
• Cleans and sanitizes transportation equipment.
• Performs Shift Coordinator duties in the absence of the Supervisor/Coordinator/Lead.
• Performs AIDET.
• Attend at least 75% of department meetings.
• Cross-train to perform transporter functions at all facilities in the health system.
• Performs courier functions as assigned.
• Communicates with department utilizing assigned smartphone devices.
• Deliver adequate oxygen to all requesting units during severe weather (Code Black).

Experience

• Prefer experience providing customer service in transportation (or transport), clerical duties, and/or dispatching associated functions. Requires general computer skills capable of utilizing health system's software programs.

Licensure/Certification/Registration/ETC.

• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) CPR acquired before or during new hire orientation.
