Job summary

Good Samaritan University Hospital in Long Island is seeking a patient transport technician to move patients safely between units, assist on/off x-ray tables, and help with transfers in and out of beds or wheelchairs. You will work in a fast-paced acute care environment, maintain clinical safety, follow hospital policies, and communicate with nursing staff to ensure patient mobility and comfort.

A High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification are required, with 1–2 years' related experience

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED or relevant experience.
  • Certification: BLS (American Heart Association) required.
  • Experience: 1–2 years in an acute care facility preferred.

  • Clinical Safety: Maintain the integrity of indwelling catheters during transport and practice proper body mechanics.

  • Patient Care: Adapt communication and handling to meet the unique physical and age-related needs of every patient.
  • Compliance: Follow all hospital policies for safety, quality improvement, and infection control.

Salary Range

USD $25.00 - USD $27.00 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
