Kimley-Horn's Gainesville, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of traffic experience to join the Transportation/Traffic team. This is not a remote position.

In this role you will perform traffic engineering, project management, and mentor junior staff while contributing to business development and client interactions. The position offers hands-on training and collaboration within our established practice.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree.
• Engineer-In-Training certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Experience with Synchro, VISSIM or similar software.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering and project management tasks for transportation projects.
• Grow personal practice while contributing to the transportation practice.
• Assist with managing projects profitably.
• Engage in hands-on practice and delivery of projects.
• Mentor and transition work to staff.
• Contribute to marketing and business development efforts.
• Receive training and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
