Kimley-Horn in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Land Development team. This is not a remote position and offers mentorship, training, and exposure to project financials and client interactions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering, 2+ years in a civil design firm, and an EIT (or ability to obtain within 12 months).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development engineering and project management for diverse projects.
• Complete site civil design, permitting, and use of hydrology and drainage software, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Contribute to land development site designs and related tasks.
• Engage in research, coordination, cost estimating, permitting, and bid package preparation.
• Receive on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production and client interactions.
