Job summary

Lady’s Childcare & Transportation (LCT) is seeking a reliable On-Call Transportation Support Driver to provide flexible backup coverage for our student transportation operations in the Savannah area. This part-time, on-call role has variable hours with assignments based on operational needs and employee availability.

You will cover AM/PM routes, assist with call-outs, and transport school-aged children safely. Compensation is $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Reliable transportation to the assigned reporting location.
• Ability to pass required background and driving-record checks.
• Reliable phone and communication.
• Strong punctuality and dependability.
• Comfortable working with and transporting children.
• Ability to follow established routes, safety procedures and management instructions.
• Flexible AM and/or PM weekday availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide AM and/or PM route coverage when needed
• Cover employee call-outs, schedule changes and route overflow
• Assist with late pickups and extracurricular pickups
• Safely transport school-aged children on assigned routes
• Complete required vehicle inspections before and after assigned routes
• Maintain accurate student attendance and transportation procedures
• Communicate delays, route concerns and schedule issues promptly
• Maintain professional and effective communication with parents, schools, team members and LCT leadership
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety and readiness when operating an LCT vehicle
• Participate in route familiarization and cross-training on multiple LCT routes

About the Position

Lady’s Childcare & Transportation (LCT) is seeking a reliable, safety-focused On-Call Transportation Support Driver to provide flexible backup coverage for our student transportation operations in the Savannah area.

This is a part-time, on-call position with variable hours. Weekly hours are not guaranteed. Assignments are based on operational needs and employee availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide AM and/or PM route coverage when needed
• Cover employee call-outs, schedule changes and route overflow
• Assist with late pickups, extracurricular pickups and approved route alternatives
• Safely transport school-aged children according to assigned routes
• Complete required vehicle inspections before and after assigned routes
• Maintain accurate student attendance and transportation procedures
• Communicate delays, route concerns and schedule issues promptly
• Maintain professional and effective communication with parents, schools, team members and LCT leadership
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety and readiness when operating an LCT vehicle

Compensation

$15.00 per hour

This position does not guarantee a minimum number of weekly hours. Hours will vary based on route coverage, call-outs, schedule changes and other operational needs.
