Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of transportation industry.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
• Working knowledge of MS Office with emphasis on Excel and Word.
• Ability to work any shift as needed.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to sit/stand for long periods and endure heat/cold.

Responsibilities

• Plan work assignments and schedules to keep drivers on time and meet transportation goals.
• Interpret transportation regulations, shipping orders, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Track loads to ensure on-time delivery and communicate with customers and personnel to resolve issues.
• Verify drivers have tools and documents needed for trips.
• Monitor reports, time records, and equipment maintenance.
• Explain tasks to new employees and assign training tasks.
• Suggest measures to improve motivation, equipment performance, methods and customer service.
• Enforce FMCSA, DOT and GMP guidelines and report accidents.
• Complete invoicing on time and accurately.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
