Salary Grade: NC14 Salary Range: $50,633.00 - $88,607.00

This posting is for a Transportation Supervisor I in the Swain County Maintenance Unit. Work is related to maintenance and repair of State-maintained roads within Swain County and supervision of subordinates in the maintenance and construction of highways. Applicants must be able to maintain a close team environment or work independently, as needed.
Position will supervise roadway maintenance crew working in and around heavy traffic, heavy equipment and with power tools. Responsibilities include supervision of roadway maintenance crew involved in drainage maintenance, patching, shoulder repair, paved and unpaved roadway maintenance, vegetation management, snow and ice removal, and emergency response to roadway maintenance needs.
The selected applicant must be able to install and maintain work zone control plans. Complete daily work reports and conduct daily tailgate meetings. Position is required to work nights and weekends as needed for emergencies and planned operations in all types of weather conditions and on uneven surfaces and slopes.
