Job Overview

Responsible for assisting management in supervising drivers and staff of the Transportation Department. Implements schedules, departure times, and daily functions of the Department. Ensures efficient coordination of daily changes and communicates with customers and internal departments as necessary.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Route and schedule loads for distribution, optimizing personnel and equipment use.
• Ensure merchandise is delivered in optimal condition.
• Coordinate with Warehouse personnel for delivery timing.
• Assign drivers to loads, ensuring compliance with company and DOT guidelines.
• Maintain good relations with store management via calls and visits.
• Handle special requests with store personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Process weekly/monthly DOT mileage reports.
• Perform driver road testing, training, and qualifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Experience and/or training in transportation, preferably in the grocery industry.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and traffic management.
• Good understanding of transportation-related government regulations.
• Leadership skills and ability to supervise and motivate others.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Analytical skills and mental alertness for administrative tasks.
• Good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
