Job summary

Alleguard is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to manage dispatch, fleet utilization, and driver supervision in a fast-growing, customer-focused environment. You will ensure on-time delivery, optimize routes, and uphold safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of transportation operations, leadership experience, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation planning, dispatch, and scheduling.

• Coordinate resources, equipment use, and driver assignments for efficiency.
• Oversee fleet inspections, reporting, and documentation.
• Lead and develop subordinates to improve performance.
• Maintain organization of vehicles, equipment, and yards.

Job Summary

Reports to Transportation Manager and is responsible for the transportation management functions relating to dispatch, fleet utilization, driver supervision, regulatory compliance, transportation planning, and distribution of products to meet customer and operational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and ensures proper transportation planning, dispatching, and scheduling are carried out.
• Monitors and addresses activities to prevent deviations from delivery schedules and customer commitments.
• Ensures compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, company, and safety regulations.
• Coordinates transportation resources, equipment utilization, and driver assignments to maximize efficiency and service levels.
• Oversees fleet inspections, maintenance reporting, and transportation documentation requirements.
• Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and personal growth.
• Oversees routine housekeeping and organization of transportation equipment, vehicles, and yard areas as required.
• Performs any other tasks as may be assigned by the Transportation Manager.
• Assists in related department activities and performs related duties, as required.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of transportation, logistics, dispatch, and fleet operations.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision - self-starter.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and transportation safety regulations.
• Graduation from High School; including or supplemented by vocational training.
• Minimum three (3) years employment in a transportation, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
