Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Hayward to lead a team of drivers delivering products to distribution centers with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost control.

You will partner with internal customers, manage carrier relationships, and monitor transportation budgets while ensuring regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of related field and/or a bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of frontline supervision experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal/influence skills.
  • Customer focus and results driven.
  • Right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of transport drivers to deliver product to Company's distribution centers in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
  • Provide local interface and direction for dedicated carrier on issues and improvement projects.
  • Own financial forecasts and analysis related to the transportation cost center.
  • Support Market Unit facilities on transportation matters including productivity/cost improvement targets; resource planning; wait time reduction.
  • Develop effective relationships with internal customers (sales, logistics, plant, satellite warehouses).
  • Provide location assistance for proper utilization of transportation tools such as rate and route guides.
  • Resolve outstanding freight bills.
  • Maintain equipment appearance and safety standards; train staff in safety procedures; identify and correct unsafe conditions.

Responsibilities

Transportation Supervisor contributes to the success of PepsiCo by supervising a team of transport drivers to deliver product to Company's distribution centers in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

  • Provide local interface and direction for dedicated carrier on issues and improvement projects.
  • Assume ownership for financial forecasts and analysis related to the transportation cost center.
  • Provide support to Market Unit facilities on transportation matters including but not limited to: Identification and achievement of assigned productivity/cost improvement targets; resource requirements planning; wait time reduction.
  • Develop effective relationships with internal customers (i.e. sales, logistics, plant, satellite warehouses etc.)
  • Provide location assistance for proper utilization of transportation tools such as rate and route guides.
  • Resolve outstanding freight bills.
  • Maintain equipment appearance and safety standards: instruct and train all company assigned to transport department in proper safety procedures and regulations; direct employees in identifying and correcting any unsafe conditions; eliminate avoidable accidents and improve department's performance.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $73,600 - $123,150.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of related field and/or a bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of DOT (Department Of Transportation) regulations Transportation experience dealing with legal, regulatory and operational issues, including customer service, logistics and carrier operations
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing front-line employees
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends
  • Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and influence management skills
  • Incumbent should have a strong customer focus and be results driven.
  • Incumbent must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks without losing momentum while also completing all daily tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
