Job summary

GEODIS in Brentwood, TN, is seeking an operations professional to monitor service calls, resolve urgent customer issues, and coordinate invoicing and carrier actions. You will support planners, ensure SOPs are followed, and manage hourly staff scheduling and cross-training initiatives.

Role requires at least 3 years of related experience, familiarity with Transportation Management Systems, and strong reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years related experience or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems required.
• Experience with optimization tools preferred.
• PC literate; proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook; reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor service calls for demeanor, accuracy, and policy compliance.
• Recommend corrective actions for customer complaints.
• Serve as direct contact for urgent customer issues.
• Escalate operational issues to management when needed.
• Coordinate with FAP on invoice resolution and carrier escalation.
• Prepare month-end close revenue accruals reports for manager.
• Assist in QBR preparation for customers; ensure SOPs are accurate.
• Determine procedures and supervise hourly staff training and schedules.
• Approve and track hourly team schedules via UNITIME.
• Support planners during contingencies; help secure trucks cost-effectively.
• Collaborate with accounts payable for freight billing processing.
• Audit invoices and assist central billing with discrepancies.
• Follow up with carriers on invoice receipt; load planning and routing compliance.
• Help establish cross-training initiatives; assist performance reviews.

Your role on the team:

• Monitors service calls to observe employee demeanor, technical accuracy, and conformity tocompany policies and standardized work
• Recommends corrective action to adjust customer complaints
• Serves as the direct point of contact for customer issues that require immediate attention
• Escalates operational issues to the manager when required
• Coordinates with FAP on invoice resolution and carrier escalation
• Prepares month-end close revenue accruals reports for manager
• Prepares and works with manager on QBR for customers
• Determines work procedures and ensures SOPs are completed and accurate
• Prepares work schedules and training for hourly employees
• Approves and tracks all hourly team members' work schedules via UNITIME
• Supports Senior Transportation Planners and Transportation Planners during contingencies for securing trucks for multiple customers while being cost-conscious and following business rules
• Collaborates with the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of freight bills.
• Audits all invoices and assists the central billing team with all discrepancy investigation
• Follows up with carriers to ensure timely receipt of invoices
• Manages customer’s requirements for load planning and routing compliance
• Establishes cross-training initiatives within the team
• Assists manager with team member performance appraisals, discipline, and goal-setting
• Travels up to 10%
• Works overtime as needed based on customer requirements or departmental priorities to support customer peaks and end-of-month, quarter, or year activities

What you need:

• Minimum 3 years related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems
• Experience with optimization tools preferred
• PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
