Job summary

Stantec invites an intern for the 2027 Summer Term in New York City to support the Structural team on infrastructure design projects. You will gain hands-on experience, work with seasoned engineers, and contribute to projects that serve communities.

Position is office-based with some field exposure; interns will develop practical skills and a network while supporting civil and structural tasks through the summer.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Experience with CAD Design programs (AutoCAD/MicroStation) is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to learn quickly; MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in preparing contract documents and reports for structural projects (bridges, rail, subway stations).
• Perform CAD drafting, check drawings/calculations, quantity take-offs, simple structural calculations, and field inspections.
