Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Transportation Specifications Specialist (Engineer-in-Training) in Portland to create and maintain technical documents for civil/environmental projects. You will work with engineers, PMs and clients to ensure specifications are clear, compliant, and aligned with project goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and an EIT/EI; 2 years of related experience is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong writing, communication and teamwork in a collaborative, growth-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; EIT/EI required or by-appointment licensure in Oregon/WA.
• 2 years of experience in technical writing/specification work or related field is preferred.
• Strong written/verbal communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical documents outlining project requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and clients to ensure specs meet needs.
• Ensure specifications align with client and company standards and current regulations.
• Assist with estimating quantities and construction costs where needed.
