Position Information
The Hondo Maintenance Office is located in Medina county just west of San Antonio. Our Maintenance personnel are responsible for maintaining over 800 lane miles, including the major corridors on US 90 and IH 35. We use practices such as base repair, maintainer level up, pothole repair, sign/delineation maintenance, and other operations to keep state roadways safe for the traveling public.
Annual Salary Ranges
Transportation Specialist I (B19): $48,244- $76,028
Transportation Specialist II (B20): $51,158- $81,351
This position is for a Transportation Specialist I or II depending on business needs and applicant qualifications. TxDOT reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on business needs and the applicant's work experience, education, skill level and all other appropriate factors.

Provides technical expertise and coordination for transportation programs involving multiple design and building construction projects, construction of transportation systems, traffic operations, maintenance of highways and facilities, or bridge inspection and appraisal in accordance with Department standards. Assists with project planning and the development of policies and procedures for area of responsibility. Work requires contact with governmental officials, consultants, contractors and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
