Job summary

Vertisystem is seeking an experienced Transportation Management Specialist I to support transportation service providers, drive KPI performance, resolve operational issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

You will monitor provider performance, document non-conformances, develop escalation processes, and collaborate with internal teams to improve service quality, efficiency, and process standardization across shifts. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of logistics service provider management or related field.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • 3+ years of transportation scheduling experience.
  • 3+ years of predictive analytics or statistical risk analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document monthly and quarterly transportation service provider performance against KPIs.
  • Identify, document, and report service provider non-conformances.
  • Develop and execute escalation processes for recurring issues and ensure corrective actions.
  • Partner with providers and internal teams to improve service quality, accountability, and efficiency.
  • Lead and coordinate projects related to transportation providers and process improvement.
  • Recommend improvements involving team collaboration, visual management, and process optimization.
  • Maintain process standardization across shifts through revisions and communication.
  • Establish targets and conduct documented quarterly performance reviews.
  • Use data-driven problem-solving, predictive analytics, and statistical risk analysis to identify issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and document monthly and quarterly transportation service provider performance against established KPIs.
  • Identify, document, and report service provider non-conformances in a structured manner.
  • Develop and execute escalation processes for recurring operational issues and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Partner with transportation service providers and internal process teams to improve service quality, accountability, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and coordinate projects related to transportation providers and process improvement.
  • Recommend improvements involving team collaboration, visual management, process optimization, and best practices.
  • Maintain process standardization across all shifts through effective process revisions and communication.
  • Establish individual performance targets and conduct documented quarterly performance reviews.
  • Use data-driven problem-solving, predictive analytics, and statistical risk analysis to identify potential transportation issues.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in logistics service provider management, supplier contract compliance, transportation, or supply chain management.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience
  • 3+ years of transportation scheduling experience
  • 3+ years of experience with predictive analytics or statistical risk analysis
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, automotive, logistics, or supply chain environment is highly preferred.
