Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Grand Rapids is seeking a Transportation Aide to operate Professional Med Team’s wheelchair vans and transport patients according to established schedules and policies. The position is full-time with rotating shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, including every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include safe driving, adherence to Pro-Med procedures, and reporting to the Pro-Care Supervisor; candidates must meet Michigan

Qualifications

• Language skills: read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Math: compute rate, ratio and percent; interpret charts.
• Reasoning: solve practical problems with variable conditions.

Responsible for operating Professional Med Team’s wheelchair vans. Responsible for picking up and transporting wheelchair patients according to predetermined schedules and Pro-Med policies and procedures. Reports to Pro-Care Supervisor.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Medical First Responder or Certified Nurse NA preferred
Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Valid State of Michigan motor vehicle operating license, with continued safe driving history.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret EKG charts.


• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
