Salary Information: The salary range for Syracuse, NY (SYR - Syracuse-Hancock International Airport) is $45,649 to $56,282 or $21.87 to $26.97 per hour, including locality pay of 17.06%.
Sign-on Bonus: The Transportation Security Administration is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000, paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service. The bonus amount is subject to change based on operational needs and will be communicated during the final job offer.
This position is within the Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security. As a TSO within Security Operations, you will provide security for air travelers, airports, and aircraft in a professional manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited proportionally. Volunteer experience through National Service programs or other organizations is also credited.

Reemployed annuitants and dress code requirements are also specified. Work schedules vary, with full-time positions requiring 40 hours weekly, including irregular hours, nights, holidays, and weekends. Part-time schedules range from 16-32 hours weekly.
Maintaining employment requires ongoing training, certification, background checks, and drug screening. No relocation expenses are paid. TSA employment is not law enforcement and does not include certain benefits.
