Job summary

The City of Tucson is seeking a Public Information Specialist for the Department of Transportation and Mobility. The role supports city initiatives, engages ward offices, constituents and businesses, coordinates events, handles media inquiries, and maintains timely, clear communication with stakeholders.

Under the supervision of the Transportation Administrator, the position does not supervise staff but drives outreach, graphics, and public-facing information for transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience required.
• Equivalency may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Produce and distribute information about transportation initiatives and projects.
• Coordinate events and assist with outreach materials and surveys.
• Prepare informational materials including Title VI compliance for public events.
• Design outreach materials for events, yard signs, news releases, and social media.
• Develop relationships with Ward offices and community groups for outreach.
• Film and edit educational videos to promote department initiatives.
