We currently have a new opportunity for an experienced seller-doer business development-oriented Project Manager to join our Transportation group! CDM Smith has been providing transportation services in Georgia for over 50 years. We are looking to expand our focus and market share in transportation design with the GDOT and new municipal clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Managing and serving as Georgia Transportation Project Manager on GDOT statewide transportation design projects including Marta projects and bicycle/pedestrian, transit, traffic, planning, new location/and widening local rural two lane roadways, urban multi-lane roadways, multi-lane interstate and controlled access facilities with major interchanges and interchange types.
2. Arranging, facilitating and preparing for meetings and coordinating with major clients.
3. Building new business and managing relationships with key transportation leaders within GDOT and other major clients including municipalities and contractors for design build throughout Georgia.
4. Managing and assisting with strategic pursuits including proposal development and client meetings.
5. Preparing and managing design and construction contract specifications for transportation projects.
6. Being involved with budget, scope and schedule development, monitoring and adherence for tasks and projects managed.
7. Implementing quality procedures at project and task levels.
8. Being active in professional societies in which clients or potential clients are members.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree
2. 10 years of related experience
3. PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list)
4. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
5. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Proven and successful experience winning and managing GDOT projects.
2. Previous engineering design experience with pre-qualification ability with GDOT is a major plus.
3. Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related discipline.
4. Professional engineering (PE) license.

Skills and Abilities:

Experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices. Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Possesses in-depth knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities. Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients. Ability to interact with many people and process a large volume of requests as necessary. Excellent personal computer skills including strong knowledge in MS Word and Excel. Demonstrates strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
