Job summary

Volkert is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager for the Tampa, FL office to lead roadway design projects in the Southeast region. The candidate will supervise design staff and coordinate with clients, regulators, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 10+ years of relevant experience including FDOT design methods. Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive responsibility.
• FDOT roadway design experience with knowledge of FDOT standards and specs.
• Proficient with MicroStation; experience with OpenRoads Designer.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide plan review and project management for Southeast region projects (FL-GA).
• Organize activities, schedules, and reporting for assigned projects.
• Prepare, issue and track contracts, change orders, and client sign-offs.
• Prepare correspondence with clients, vendors and regulators.
• Prepare invoices and purchase orders; coordinate with outside resources.
• Prepare meeting minutes and presentations.
• Lead project submittals and bidding activities.
• Lead a project team and provide technical and administrative support.
• Market new and existing clients (FDOT D1, D7, FTE, local municipalities).
• Interact with clients and the public regarding project plans.
• Direct designers to execute designs meeting client-focused strategies.
