Job summary

Volkert in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer to support our Southeast Region and deliver transportation and civil design projects.

Candidates should have a BS in Civil Engineering, 5–10 years in roadway design, FDOT experience preferred, and be eligible for PE or FE within one year. Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer is required; valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug screen are also expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
• 5–10 years of roadway design experience.
• Peer/FDOT expectations, schedules, and budgets experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with plans quantities, estimates, specs, and coordination with subconsultants.
• Lead or assist in development of project designs and delivery of work.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and prepare reports, plans, and schedules.
• Work with a team to deliver transportation and civil design projects.
• Adhere to company quality assurance and quality control standards.
