What We're Looking For

Are you ready to make a significant impact on fast-paced infrastructure projects? HNTB is seeking a passionate Transportation Project Manager I to lead our innovative project teams. In this role, you'll manage budgets, schedules, technical requirements, and contractual obligations, ensuring top performance and client satisfaction. Your expertise will contribute to solving complex transportation engineering challenges.

What You'll Do:

1. Develop project scope and fee quotations; assist in preparing technical proposals and contracts following HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
2. Serve as the primary client liaison; manage project teams to deliver scope, schedule, and budget goals; assist with client scoping and contract negotiations.
3. Perform technical tasks including analysis, reporting, design, specifications, and production for assigned projects.
4. Implement the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA); lead development and execution of project management plans; supervise and mentor team members.
5. Coordinate with managers on staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and performance reviews.
6. Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and pursuit teams to support business development, build client relationships, and pursue strategic projects, including proposal and presentation preparations.
7. May oversee staff recruitment, hiring, development, and retention, including performance and compensation reviews.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of task management or Deputy PM experience.

Primary Focus Will Include:

• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects.
• Leading design teams on projects with construction values between $100M and $2.5B.
• Mentoring junior engineering staff.
• Engaging throughout all project phases, including pre-award, post-award, and construction.
• Travel to project sites as required.
• Managing project activities such as staffing, proposals, budgeting, and quality control.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience managing Design-Build projects.
• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience in collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environments.

Compensation:

The approximate pay range for New York is $123,854.48 - $242,151.39. For Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA, it is $142,432.65 - $222,779.29. Actual salary depends on qualifications, experience, skills, and location.
