The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is recruiting for a Transportation Project Manager 1 to manage the Idaho Transportation Improvement Program, funding, project identification, creation of initial project scope, schedule and budget, in the Rigby, District 6 office. This position is a critical part of the Division of Highways project delivery team and works closely with HQ’s PMO office in Boise. The primary purpose of this position it to ensure statewide delivery and reporting of projects in the Idaho Transportation Investment Program (ITIP).

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Prepares project charters which includes detailed scope, schedule and budget along with other technical design such as design standards, minimum level of service, accident analysis, roadway typical, maps, etc. which are necessary for project design and programming
  • Monitor and control the project tasks, schedules and resources, project estimates, and project scopes.
  • Represent the district to public officials, city, county and the public in meetings and thru communications.
  • Actively manages the development process as well as contract administration in construction of highway projects.
  • Mange consultant contracts in the development of projects.
  • Establish and implement methods of monitoring, supporting, and reporting on the progress and delivery of the statewide transportation investment program
  • Coordination of issues, prioritizing needs, and facilitating successful project delivery
  • Uniform management of all programs and requirements
  • Manage and recommend the district ITIP program budgets (state and federal)
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with District Engineer and staff, other Division of Highways sections, and department leadership
  • Develop project management procedures, guidelines, and tools as needed for department staff to achieve project delivery goals
  • Prepare and present agenda items for department board meetings
  • Guide the district project managers performing services such as data analytics, cost estimating, program monitoring, budget transactions (Project Program Entry or Revision, ITD-1414; and Project Authorization and Agreement, ITD-2101), risk management

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes
  • Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public
  • Developing and monitoring contracts
