Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen Inc. (GPI) seeks a Transportation Project Manager for our Pennsylvania team with opportunities in Pittsburgh and other PA offices. You will lead transportation projects for federal, state, and local clients in a collaborative, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of transportation project management experience.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. is preferred).
  • PE licensure or Professional Surveyors License.
  • Experience with PENNDOT and/or PA Turnpike.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage all aspects of transportation projects.
  • Independently coordinate the work of engineers and balance the project delivery team throughout the entire project's development
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing and proposal development, contractual matters, design and production meetings
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Conduct work sessions for design development and contract documents in conjunction with staff from other technical disciplines
  • Coordinate workload throughout entire project development and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track and manage project budgets
  • Proficiency and experience utilizing software applications (e.g., MicroStation, Open Roads, Civil-3D, etc.) with minimal to no guidance
  • Mentor staff

GPI has an immediate opening for a Transportation Project Manager for our Pennsylvania team in one of the following offices. Scranton, Allentown, Mechanicsburg, or Pittsburgh, PA.

Ideal candidates will hold a Professional Engineer certification, and have experience working with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT).

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field (M.S. is preferred)
  • PE licensure or Professional Surveyors License
  • Experience with PENNDOT and/or PA Turnpike
  • Experience with County and municipal clients a plus
  • Quality control quality assurance, and project management experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic with a desire to work in a collaborative environment
Requirements MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19\" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
