Job summary

Tighe & Bond in Westfield, MA is seeking a Project Manager 1 to lead multidisciplinary roadway design efforts within our Transportation Business Line. You’ll work with municipal and state clients, guiding projects from concept through construction.

Ideally you hold a Massachusetts PE license, have 10+ years in roadway design, and can manage teams, coordinate with DOT standards, and present to clients and the public in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Massachusetts PE license.
• 10+ years of progressive roadway design experience.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Knowledge of DOT design standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer.
• Ability to lead client meetings and public presentations.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage roadway design projects for municipal and DOT clients.
• Serve as primary client contact and maintain relationships.
• Develop construction drawings, specs, cost estimates, and reports.
• Supervise internal design teams and coordinate with subconsultants.
• Oversee permitting and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide technical oversight during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote growth.
• Lead proposal preparation and interviews for opportunities.
