Job summary

Thompson Engineering in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a Transportation Engineer with 5–10 years of roadway design experience to join our growing transportation design team. The successful candidate will contribute from concept through construction and play a key role on municipal, state DOT, and private projects.

You will prepare designs using OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D, coordinate with survey, environmental, and structural staff, develop cost estimates and reports, and mentor junior engineers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in transportation or roadway design.
• Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D is preferred.
• PE license preferred (not required for consideration).

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in roadway and transportation design and will play a key role in supporting and leading projects from concept through construction.
