Job summary

Benesch Alfred & Co. is seeking a Project Engineer for our Denver office to lead roadway design for state DOTs, local municipalities, and private clients.

You will provide design support for roadways, driveways, sidewalks, greenways, parks, multimodal improvements, and bridge projects, coordinating with hydraulic, traffic, structures, and environmental teams. The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, 10+ years of roadway design, and a PE license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher is required.
  • PE license is required.
  • 10+ years of roadway design experience.
  • Experience with State DOTs, counties, and municipalities.

Responsibilities

  • Design roadway and interstate projects from preliminary to final design.
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure quality.
  • Assist in proposal development and project management.

Benesch is hiring a Project Engineer to join our talented team in our Denver office! On our team, you will have the opportunity to work on various infrastructure projects for State DOT’s, local municipalities and private clients. You will provide design support for roadways, driveways, sidewalks, greenways, parks, multimodal improvements, and bridge replacement projects. You will regularly interact and coordinate designs efforts with the hydraulic, traffic, structures, environmental and other disciplines to develop turnkey projects.

This position will be based in our Denver office.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Working on the design of roadways, highways, and interstates from preliminary to final design
  • Develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
  • Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and quality of work
  • Contribute to proposal development
  • Directly assist Project Managers and Design Leaders
  • Manage and maintain project documentation
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to complete project requirements and deliver a quality design to the client
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or higher, is required
  • 10+ years of roadway design experience
  • PE is required
  • Experience working with clients such as State and County Departments of Transportation, and municipal.
  • Proficient at using Microstation and/or Inroads (Open Roads Designer a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.
