Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation in Lake City seeks a Project Development Engineer II to oversee field inspections, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering for transportation projects. You will manage Project Development and Environmental studies, review plans, and perform analyses considering socio-economic and environmental impacts.

Qualifications

Professional engineering expertise in transportation project development and environmental planning
Experience with feasibility studies, cost estimates, and preliminary engineering reports
Knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, MUTCD, AASHTO guidelines, and PD&E procedures
Contract management and consultant coordination experience
Strong communication and public involvement coordination skills
Technical engineering analysis capability for operational and safety concerns

Responsibilities

Oversees field inspections, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering for transportation projects
Manages Project Development and Environmental studies
Reviews plans for compliance with standards
Performs engineering analysis considering socio-economic and environmental impacts
Serves as contract manager for consultant firms on assigned projects
