Job summary

Modern Mobility Partners in the Atlanta area is seeking a Transportation Planning Project Manager with experience across all modes to lead transportation planning studies, analyses, processes, and reports.

The role includes managing scopes, schedules, and budgets; coordinating client and consulting teams; mentoring staff; and supporting proposal development and business development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in City/Regional/Urban Planning or Transportation Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional transportation planning experience.
  • Ability to think independently and identify challenges and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tasks and projects, including developing scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure project activities and deliverables are on schedule, within budget, and meet client expectations.
  • Conduct project team and client meetings regularly and communicate status and progress.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, notes, and project progress reports.
  • Coordinate activities between client and consulting team.
  • Mentor and train staff and assist with proposals.

Job Description

Modern Mobility Partners, a full-service transportation planning and traffic engineering firm founded in January 2018, is looking for a Transportation Planning Project Manager with experience in transportation planning across all modes.

This position will assist our growing firm in the project management of transportation planning studies, analyses, processes, and reports. This position could also include management of entry and mid-level staff.The candidate will have the opportunity to support senior leadership in project delivery and business development in the field of transportation planning, planning processes, project prioritization and performance measures, funding/grant strategies, data analytics, and/or emerging technologies, among other disciplines as needed.

The individual will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team to complete a variety of projects. Tasks may include but is not limited to:

  • Manage tasks and/or projects, including developing scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Ensure project activities and deliverables are on schedule, within budget, and meet or exceed client expectations
  • Conduct project team and client meetings regularly and communicate project or task status, schedule and project activities
  • Prepare meeting agendas, meeting notes, project progress reports and team action items
  • Prepare presentations to clients and project team
  • Coordinate project activities between the client(s) and consulting team
  • Coordinate entry and mid-level staff on assignments
  • Write, edit and review reports and documentation
  • Conduct QA/QC on staff technical analyses and writing
  • Conduct or provide methodology for transportation data analysis
  • Identify challenges and opportunities and develop solutions that best meet the project needs
  • Manage, mentor, and train staff
  • Identify new contract and teaming opportunities
  • Assist marketing director with proposal development and develop technical approach for proposals
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in City/Regional/Urban Planning or Transportation Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional transportation planning experience at transportation agencies or consulting firms
  • Ability to think independently, including identifying challenges, opportunities, and solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • AICP or PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year
  • Master’s degree in City/Regional/Urban Planning or Transportation Engineering
