Job summary

Gresham Smith is seeking a Project Manager Assistant in Midtown Atlanta to help manage transportation projects, schedules, and budgets. You will coordinate with city, state, and county officials, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in project management or related field, or 3+ years of transportation industry experience in Georgia, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or a related field, or 3+ years of transportation industry experience preferably in Georgia
  • Strong knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
  • Proficiency with office equipment such as PCs, calculators, and copiers
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without constant supervision

Responsibilities

  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for client transportation projects including roadway design, traffic signals, transportation planning, and environmental work
  • Prepare engineering reports, plans, and specifications for major and minor projects by consultants or clients
  • Oversee preparation and review of preliminary and final plans, technical specs, contract documents, and estimates, recommending changes when necessary
  • Participate in contract bidding and administration as needed
  • Supervise and guide design projects through client processes, coordinating with city, state, and county officials as well as outside agencies
  • Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal firm staff
  • Communicate with project teams, client representatives, review agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Address complex issues by involving subject matter experts and client management
  • Meet program and client goals and reporting metrics for projects
  • Attend training to stay current on client and firm requirements

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of transportation industry experience, preferably in Georgia
  • Ability to adapt and gain additional experience as required for specific assignments
  • Strong knowledge of standard office practices and procedures

About the Role

As aProject Manager Assistant, you will:

  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for client transportation projects including roadway design, traffic signals, transportation planning, and environmental work
  • Manage preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for major and minor projects by consultants or clients

  • Meet program and client goals and reporting metrics for projects
  • Attend training as needed to stay current on client and firm requirements
