Job summary

Los Angeles Metro is seeking a Manager, Transportation Planning (Grants) to oversee the FTA 5310 program and expand specialized transit solutions to bridge gaps in service. You will manage federal grant distribution and coordinate with staff, consultants, and external partners to ensure projects meet scope, budget, and timelines.

The role requires strong analytical skills, budget management, and experience in transportation planning and policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban or Transportation Planning or related field; Master's preferred.
• Six years of relevant experience or three years of supervisory-level experience in transportation planning or related area.
• A valid California Class C Driver License or ability to use alternative transportation as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and manages complex planning, implementation, funding, and analytical projects and programs.
• May manage staff, consultants, and/or projects.
• Develops and negotiates scopes of work and participates on negotiation teams with contractors/consultants.
• Prepares comprehensive reports, correspondence, and presentations.
• Mediates and negotiates with internal and external stakeholders.
