Job summary

LA Metro is seeking a Manager, Transportation Planning (Grants) to help manage the FTA Section 5310 program and expand specialized transit solutions.

The role supports distribution of federal grants, ensures project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget, and provides technical guidance on Metro plans and policies. A leadership background and strong analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban or Transportation Planning or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Six years of relevant experience or three years of supervisory experience in transportation planning or related area.
  • CA Class C Driver License or ability to obtain/use alternative transportation as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex planning, implementation, funding, and analytical projects
  • May supervise staff, consultants, and projects
  • Analyze programs, guidelines, strategies, and procedures
  • Negotiate and execute MOUs and cooperative agreements
  • Develop scopes of work and participate in procurement
  • Monitor vendor performance and budgets for assigned programs
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations
  • Present to internal/external stakeholders
  • Contribute to safety policy and compliance across units
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
