Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Transportation Planner to analyze distribution plans and optimize load planning for truckload and LTL orders.

You will route shipments to meet customer delivery requirements and identify opportunities to consolidate work across the network. You will mentor/train new planners, support managers with data analysis, and collaborate with customer service, plants, distribution centers, and carriers to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field or equivalent job experience.
• 3-5 years experience in the transportation field.
• Transportation operations experience required.
• CPG experience preferred.
• Strong communication, planning, analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience participating on cross-functional teams.
• Ability to develop relationships with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex distribution plans to support load planning for truckload and LTL orders.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate orders into multi-stop truckloads.
• Route shipments to meet delivery requirements of each customer load.
• Identify optimal freight solutions to improve payload utilization and on-time performance.
• Mentor/train new load planners.
• Provide coverage for absence of team members.
• Assist managers in analyzing data to implement cost-effective solutions.
• Analyze historical data trends to guide future efficiencies.
• Generate and analyze daily/weekly/period reports from TMS/ERP.
• Provide best-in-class transportation services while coordinating with CS, plant, DCs, and carriers.
