Job summary

The Connecticut DOT seeks a Transportation Planner 2 to lead statewide transit technology programs and projects across planning, evaluation, procurement and implementation. Job description

The Transit Technology Program Lead leads Connecticut DOT's statewide transit technology programs and projects, working across strategic planning, technology evaluation, procurement, and implementation. Based in Newington, CT, this Transportation Planner 2 position collaborates with internal teams, transit operators, municipalities, and technology vendors to advance innovative transit solutions that improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and customer experience. The role spans multidisciplinary responsibilities including systems engineering, project management, grant administration, stakeholder coordination, and technical advisory support for major initiatives like bus rapid transit, fare modernization, and transit signal priority.
