Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation (CTDOT) seeks a Transportation Planner 2 in Newington, CT. This role leads transit plans and studies, coordinates with CTtransit and independent districts, and synthesizes data for analysis and reporting.

The unit delivers planning support, prepares NTD submissions, develops visualizations, and presents findings to stakeholders. Telework may be possible after probation, with on-site work required initially.

Qualifications

• Seven years of professional experience in transportation planning.
• One year of coordinating complex planning projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related fields preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license may be required per Special Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, prioritizes, oversees and reviews office unit work.
• Provides staff training and assistance.
• Conducts performance evaluations.
• Acts as liaison with operating units, agencies, consultants and outside officials.
• Prepares reports, studies and surveys in compliance with standards.
