Are you passionate about shaping the future of transportation and ensuring seamless mobility within a growing region? The City of Johns Creek is seeking a Transportation Planner to lead critical planning initiatives, coordinate with key agencies, and contribute to the development of a well-connected transportation system.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate major transportation planning efforts, including updates to the Johns Creek Transportation Master Plan and North Fulton Comprehensive Transportation Plan.
• Conduct transportation analysis using GIS, travel demand modeling, and traffic simulation tools to forecast future traffic trends.
• Develop and manage transportation grants and funding applications from regional, state, and federal sources.
• Collaborate with regional organizations such as the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to advance transportation projects.
• Provide transportation expertise in broader land-use planning efforts, including the Comprehensive Plan and the Town Center Vision and Plan.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for city officials and community stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations and standards.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Four years of experience in transportation planning, transportation engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in GIS software, travel demand modeling, and traffic simulation tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• AICP Certification (American Institute of Certified Planners) is a plus.
