Job summary

SSFM International is seeking a Transportation Planner to support high-impact mobility projects across Hawai‘i. You will conduct research, prepare planning documents, and coordinate with stakeholders to advance land use and infrastructure planning across island communities.

The role combines technical writing, data analysis, and collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to sustainable, connected communities in Hawaii.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Geography, Public Administration, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional planning experience, ideally in Hawaii.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Hawaii planning, zoning, and entitlement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and permit applications.
  • Support land use, community, and infrastructure planning projects.
  • Assist with stakeholder coordination and agency communication.
  • Prepare layouts, planning graphics, and data analyses (GIS experience helpful).
  • Contribute to proposals, presentations, and internal project documentation.

Pay

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
