Job summary

The Road Commission in Monroe County seeks an Office Technician to administer transportation permitting and perform office functions for residential driveway permitting. You will support staff with clerical duties, record keeping, and project documentation using FieldManager, ProjectWise, and RoadSoft.

Required are an Associate degree with one year of related experience, a valid Michigan driver’s license, and the MDOT Office Technician certification to be obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and one year of related experience.
• Knowledge of transportation permitting requirements.
• Valid driver’s license to operate vehicles in Michigan.
• MDOT Office Technician certification should be obtained within one year of hire.
• Knowledge of MCRC policies and engineering guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and process overweight/oversize transportation permits and assign routes.
• Review annual blanket and cab card permit applications.
• Process residential driveway and frontage tile applications; coordinate with survey for drainage requirements.
• Prepare invoices and coordinate permit billings with Accounts Receivable.
• Assist with clerical duties, record keeping, and file maintenance for projects.
