Job summary

SWJ Technology is seeking a Transportation Management Specialist in Spartanburg, SC, for a contract position that requires presence at both the main site and an off-site warehouse facility. You will monitor carrier performance, analyze KPIs, and drive improvement initiatives to standardize processes and enhance service levels.

The role partners with transportation providers and internal teams to manage escalations, develop performance targets, and ensure compliance with contracts and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in logistics/supply chain or transportation management.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Experience with contract compliance in logistics is preferred.
• Manufacturing or automotive environment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, evaluate, and document carrier performance monthly and quarterly.
• Track KPIs, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Establish and manage escalation processes for recurring issues.
• Coordinate escalations to ensure timely support and accountability.
• Lead projects focused on performance and operational improvement.
• Develop recommendations to improve efficiency and standardization.
• Collaborate with providers and internal teams affected by transportation.
• Develop and review quarterly performance targets with providers.
• Ensure process standardization across shifts via updates and documentation.
• Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Support continuous improvement in transportation processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned; frequent on-site interaction.
• Frequent on-site interaction with providers and operations teams.
